SO while browsing the GO tag....

Miranda:

I saw a fan-casting thing with NPH as Aziraphale. Ehh. Maybe?

Nox:

His features are too narrow for Aziraphale for me. I adore NPH, but 1. his face and 2. he's American, and Aziraphale is ridiculously British.

Miranda:

And to showcase his singing it'd probably turn into a musical.

Nox:

Oh my goodness I am imagining that and I am cryiNG HELP

Miranda:

A Queen musical. I'm thinking apocalyptic battles set to Bohemian Rhapsody, and a We Are The Champions finale.

Nox:

And Aziraphale has old stuffy British marches as his battle theme.

Miranda:

The Four Horsepersons could have a Villian Song. Aziraphale and Crowley get a Counterpoint Duet at the beginning.

Nox:

Adam gets a lighthearted song with add ons from the rest of Them and it has an ominous ending...

Miranda:

... You know, they can do whatever they want with the miniseries, we need to get this idea to a director.

Nox:

All the A/C duets. All of them.

Anathema has either a gloomy melody with happy lyrics or gloomy lyrics with a happy melody.

Miranda:

The Bikers' Villain Song can have the four of them lit up on different parts of the stage, singing their verses, and then they all come together.

Nox:

Newt has a plodding little song that attempts to sound happy but isn't and it ends with Shadwell storming onstage in the middle of a line.

Miranda:

But later there's an ensemble number with Newt/Anathema, Crowley, Aziraphale, and the Them racing to stop the apocalypse.

Nox:

And it has overlapping lines and melody like the reprise of Tonight in West Side Story and aghhhhhhhh WANT

Crowley and Aziraphale eventually have a very quick back-and-forth dialogue song that's very clever, like the beginning of What is This Feeling (Wicked). And then the argument devolves into them going and being buddies again.

Miranda:

... I think we just accidentally a hit musical adaptation. The actual miniseries is going to seem boring now. :3

Nox:

Hehehehe. Perfect.

The drunk scene in the beginning of the book will have a lurching string and piano background, as in everytime it seems suitable the riff is played. It's reminiscent of a person tripping over themselves and giggling. And when Crowley goes to Aziraphale's house when it's on fire, the riff plays again, but in a minor key and quicker.

The riff could be changed around again and again and be one of their themes, maybe?

Miranda:

"The bird could use a spaceship." *PIANO RIFF*

There could be a part with A/C singing a duet about how life in Heaven/Hell isn't that great.

Nox:

Hastur and Ligur have a Scare Chord that isn't that scary in the beginning but every time it plays it changes a little, until you get the the maggot scene and it's HORRIFYING.

and then she had to go and I was sad
